If You are A Cop, Don't Read This!

Dear Friends,
For the next few weeks Brett and I will be hiding out in our house. If you plan on visiting us, please call first or your knocks will be ignored. You see, about a month ago Brett was flashed by a speed camera on the freeway. We received the ticket in the mail a few days later with a picture of Brett, but with my name on the ticket. He was driving my car. We have dishonestly chosen to not pay the ticket and see what happens. Go ahead, you can judge us! We don't mind! :) So now we wait for the neighborhood cop to stop by and serve us the ticket. Apparently he only gets three tries! So, if you come knocking on our door, don't expect us to answer. Instead, listen very carefully and you'll hear us hiding around the corner holding our breaths. It's quite amusing! Here's to our lives as fugitives!

I'm Getting Implants!

No, not THAT kind of implants! (Although considering my recent Feel Great in Eight results it might not be a bad idea!) :) I'm getting ICLs or Implantable Contact Lenses! ICL's are lenses that are implanted behind your iris and in front of your eye's natural lens to correct poor vision. They are an alternative for people whose prescriptions are too strong to be corrected by Lasik, i.e. ME! Today I went in for all my pre-surgical measurements and to get microscopic holes lasered thru my eyes so that the fluid can pass back and forth between the layers of my eye for the next two weeks. Sounds like fun huh? And in two weeks from this Friday I will be contact and glasses free FOREVER MORE!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

It's The Little Things

that make me smile. Recently I came home to find this in our entryway and I couldn't help but laugh.

So why did this make me smile?
1.My cute doctor hubby is home and ready to hang out with me.
But more importantly,
2. He finished up his surgery in the O.R., went and got food from the cafeteria, walked thru the whole parking lot out to his car, drove home, and took off his shoes once home without ever bothering to take his surgical booties off! That is SO Brett!

Our New Alarm Clock

Can it already be that time of year again?! With the start up of the schools, comes this...

Every day around 5:00 am and 7:00 pm, we get the JOY (note the hint of sarcasm) of listening to the melodious thunder of the Sunrise Mountain High School marching band as they blare away from the practice field that happens to be across the street from our house. With the lack of sleep they're causing me and the odd hours at which they're practicing, I'm just wondering, do band kids ever sleep?!
